Shrimp Boil

This boil right here, IS summer. ☀️ Not to mention, very quick and easy! This is the sort of dish to share with family and kiddos, the wow factor for your upcoming party’s or just a quick weeknight meal for your honey. With fresh corn 🌽 coming in, this is the perfect way to eat them up!! Even if you aren’t a shrimp lover (like myself) the other protein in this boil is juicy kielbasa, and it is smackin good.😍

Shrimp Boil Recipe

Feeds 2-4

Takes about 30 minutes

-what you need-

Shrimp Boil

  • 1 red onion, peeled and quartered
  • 6 whole garlic cloves, peeled and lightly smashed
  • 1/4 cup old bay seasoning
  • 16 oz bag of whole, red baby potatoes – I used Nibbles
  • 3 ears of corn cut into thirds
  • 12 oz Kielbasa cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 pound fresh, peeled and deveined shrimp

Garnish

  • Melted butter
  • Fresh chopped parsley and chives
  • Old bay
  • Fresh lemon wedges

-what to do-

  1. In a very large pot, fill with water, add in your onion, garlic and old bay and bring to a boil.
  2. If your shrimp aren’t peeled, nows the time to clean those up
  3. When water is just at boiling point, add in the potatoes and cook for 7-10 minutes until almost fork tender
  4. Next, add in your corn and cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Next, add in your kielbasa and cook for 5 more minutes.
  6. Lastly, add in your shrimp and cook for 3 minutes until pink.
  7. Reserve 1-2 cups of the boil liquid if desired, then strain the rest in a colander and dump onto a large baking sheet.
  8. Drizzle over some melted butter, garnish with parsley, chives, fresh lemon wedges, sprinkle on a little extra old bay and DIG IN!!! I like to leave the bowl of the boil liquid on table for dunking.
  9. Enjoy!! 🍤
